Ignite your life processes with digestive enzymes!
Research shows that digestive enzymes are not only important for digestion – they also perform a multitude of functions within the body. Every action and reaction within the body is dependent on enzymes; they literally ignite the processes that sustain life itself. Without them, life is incapable of existing, period. Enzymes are “life energy” – they are the *Spark of Life*!
Imagine the body being like a new automobile with a high-speed engine under the hood. As years pass, the once new battery that “sparks” it into action is now exhausted from years of demands draining its life energy – its reserve can no longer ignite the processes to start the engine.
As we age, our enzyme bank is naturally depleted – the production of natural enzymes in the stomach, pancreas and small intestine declines, starting as early as age 30. We experience digestive distress, loss of skin tone and premature aging and make excuses when we start to sputter because our body continues to perform. We don't recharge our enzyme reserves until our internal systems break down and we can no longer “jump-start” our engine.
Each enzyme has a specific job to assist in digestion and overall health. Proper utilization of nutrients and vitamins cannot possibly occur without the presence of enzymes, so when enzyme reserves are depleted, the body goes into a state of mal-absorption. In addition to aiding digestion, enzymes assist the body in healing from infections, help to maintain healthy blood, process iron, and carry oxygen throughout the body to nourish the billions of skin, tissue, and brain cells.
Natural enzymes occur in raw fruits and vegetables, not exactly the most popular food items for most Americans. Cooking and processing foods destroys enzymes. No wonder we are a generation starving for enzymes - it shows, too, in the millions of chronic disorders like fibromyalgia, arthritis, food and environmental allergies, colon and prostate cancers, and skin disorders, as well as candida and parasite infestations. In fact, at present, 80 million Americans are diagnosed with digestive disorders.
Enzyme depletion = lack of energy, development of diseases
and accelerated symptoms of aging.
- Poor digestion/absorption
- Decreased energy
- Indigestion
- Headaches
- Constipation
- General malaise
- Belching
- Fatigue
- Yeast/health-depleting bacteria
- Bloating
Disorders involving pain and inflammation are rarely connected to a lack of enzymes and the body's ability to process what is ingested. The fact is, enzymes are needed for every phase of tissue repair – they reduce swelling and pain and decrease the overall duration of the inflammatory responses, thus speeding recovery. Learn more about pain and inflammation and Metabolic/systemic oral enzymes which provide assistance with the symptoms of inflammation.
Additionally, the accumulation of undigested food from enzyme deficiency, metabolic waste, and putrefied fecal matter in the intestinal tract overburdens the liver and the secondary circulatory system, the lymphatics. This contributes to toxic overload. Learn more about the dangers of toxic overload in my books; I was poisoned by my body and Invisible Illnesses.
The good news: we now have the option of taking preventive measures to keep our enzyme reserves plentiful by supplementing with a professional complex of full-spectrum digestive enzymes.
- Eat as many raw vegetables or juices as possible.
- Get plenty of restorative sleep and set time aside for activities to reduce stress and rejuvenate the mind, body and soul.
- After the age of 40, or if under excessive stress or suffer from a chronic condition, supplement with a full spectrum digestive enzyme that contains enzymes for digestion: fats, carbohydrates, fiber, grains, seeds, legumes, fruits, vegetables, components of milk (lactose and protein) and soy.
Additional benefits of adequate digestive enzymes include: support against autoimmune disorders, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, chronic diseases and for pre- and post-surgery patients. Enzymes also assist in the removal of metabolic waste and help improve overall circulation. They play an important role in preventing excessive blood clotting and reducing stickiness of platelets and red blood cells.
The best way to take digestive enzyme supplementation is to swallow one capsule at the beginning of the meal, and an additional one either in the middle or at the end of the meal. This assures a type of “time-released” action. If you're having digestive problems, your enzyme complex should provide relief during and after the meal for approximately two hours. If your symptoms persist, be sure to check with your health care provider to rule out other medical conditions, such as a risk of cardiovascular involvement.
Go ahead, ignite your life processes with enzymes—all you have to lose at minimum are digestive problems – what you have to gain is the ability to add life to your years, not just years to your life, naturally. Celebrate your independence from digestive problems. Start taking digestive enzymes – the *Spark of Life!*
